Terrifying moment tradie broken down on the side of the road loses the plot after a driver stops to see if he’s OK
A tradesman broken down on the side of a remote Aussie country highway has been filmed hurling a tirade of angry abuse at a motorist who stopped to help him.
The frightening interaction unfolded last Thursday and was shared to the Dash Cam Owners of Australia social media page on Monday.
The driver of the ute fitted with a dashcam flashes his lights at the broken down ute, which has its hood popped and has smoke pouring from the engine, before coming to a stop alongside the vehicle.
The bizarre footage then shows the tradie, standing in the road and dressed in dirty hi-vis workwear, telling the good Samaritan: ‘Don’t flash your lights at me, mate, what’s going on?’
The driver appears stunned at the reaction and fumbles a partial response before the tradie unleashes an extended rant at him.
‘Don’t start on me and flash your f***ing lights,’ the broken-down driver yells.
‘I’ve just blown me motor.’
‘What you got a f***ing problem? Step out of the car, mate’.
‘Get a move on now!’
The driver, who appeared ready to lend a hand, slowly drives away, telling the man: ‘You’re mental mate’.
This seems to further infuriate the tradie, who screams back ‘f*** off c***’ as the driver accelerates away.
The good Samaritan slows down to check if the stranded driver is ok and needs any help
But the foul-mouthed tradie yells a tirade of abuse at him, prompting him to drive off
The broken down car appears to be a Toyota LandCruiser LC79 single cab ute, which sells for anywhere between $85,000 and $115,000 depending on the model and specifications, with the driver appearing to have spent extra on tray modifications.
Viewers on the clip were perplexed over the tradie’s reaction.
‘Doesn’t everyone just flash their lights to show you’ve seen them,’ one person said.
‘Makes you wonder how he was driving before this,’ another said.
‘No doubt he’s missed at least a couple of oil changes and doesn’t look after it by the looks of it,’ a third added.
