Woman shares toilet cleaning hack with garlic clove, but people aren’t convinced

PEOPLE have been left confused after a woman shared a toilet cleaning hack that required just a single clove of garlic.
The woman took to social media to share her nifty hack with cleaning fans as she posted before and after photos of her toilet bowl.
The before looked manky with a brown ring stain and murky water at the bottom, while the after appeared to be spotless and pristine.
A third photo showed her holding up a single clove of garlic.
In the caption of the post on Facebook’s Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips, she wrote: “A clove of garlic in the toilet? Trust me, you’ll be amazed by what it can do!
“Put one in before bed and wake up to some surprising results. Curious? You won’t regret trying this out!

“Myst express something to keep getting my recipes… Thank you.”
And people did express themselves as they took to the comments to share their thoughts on the hack, which appeared to be too good to be true.
“It’s a different toilet on before and after pics,” one person said. “Can between by the fixing of the seat.”
Another chimed: “That’s NOT the same toilet,” while a third added: “Different toilet, seat and everything,” followed by three crying with laughter emojis.
And a fourth joked: “Should I sauté with onions first?”
But some pointed out that the photos were generic to simply demonstrate her hack as one person shared: “I think the images are generic to show how to do it”.
And others who’ve tried the hack before said it does work.
“I have put some garlic in the toilet before,” one explained. “It does work.”
Meanwhile, some said it was a “brilliant idea”, including one person who shared: “Looks good,” followed by a thumbs up emoji.
“What a brilliant idea!!!” another said.
And after all the divided comments, one woman shared some helpful information as she wrote: “There are 2 different ways to use garlic within your toilet cleaning routine.
“The first is to crush a clove of garlic and leave it in the toilet before you go to bed so it can work overnight.
“Best to do this overnight because garlic is very smelly and we are less inclined to use the toilet during this time. All you have to do is flush the loo when you wake up, and you’re done!”
The second tip, she said was to boil two cloves of chopped garlic in a pan before letting it steep for 15 minutes.
She explained that you can add the liquid into the toilet, sharing that it’s best to do before bed.
Garlic contains a substance called allicin, which has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

It’s this substance that makes it a good addition to your cleaning routine.
And, according to ohmymag.com, garlic can also help get rid of tartar build up – all you have to do is “keep cleaning your toilet as you would normally”.
